Frans CIAPPARA relied primarily on the Parish Registers (Parish Registers) and the Censuses (Liber Status Animarum) to write a thesis that explores the practices and customs in Malta regarding the three main religious events of life:

Baptism, Marriage, and Burial.

We present three appendices from his work, which may offer additional information for Genealogists:

• Appendix A: Clandestine Marriages (1750 – 1800)
• Appendix F: Cases of Polygamy (1754 – 1785)
• Appendix G: Maltese married to Muslim women, during their captivity (1754 – 1798)
