History

In the Middle Ages, Ħad-Dingli was one of the largest parishes in Malta. The parish church of St. Mary of the Assumption was built in 1678 and, at the edge of the cliffs, the small chapel, St. Mary Magdalene, dates from 1646. Within the town boundaries, several prehistoric sites can be found: some megalithic structures and the cart-ruts of Clapham Junction.
