Floriana

Overview

Il-Furjana, also known as Floriana after the military engineer who designed its fortifications, is a Maltese town located west of La Valette, the capital, of which it forms a suburb.

The town is built on the western part of the Xiberras peninsula, which it shares with La Valette, occupying its eastern part. This peninsula is therefore surrounded by two natural harbours: the Marsamxett Harbour to the north, and the Grand Harbour to the south.
