Cospicua
Overview
Cospicua is a city in Malta, the largest of the Three Cities, the other two being Vittoriosa and Senglea. Located between these two cities, Bormla together with them forms part of the region surrounding the Grand Harbour and lies east of the capital, La Vallette.

History
The name Bormla derives from the Maltese bir-mula, "The well of the Lord". In 1722, Grand Master Zondadari proclaimed it a city and named it Citta Cospicua.
In 1776, the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem began the construction of docks. This construction marked a turning point in the city's history, as it became famous for its docks, which played a vital role in the development of the city.
