Mqabba
Overview
L-Imqabba, also known as Mqabba, is a small village in the south of Malta, inhabited by approximately 3,300 people. Known for its limestone deposits, fossils of now-extinct animals can be found there. Early Christian catacombs can also be found in the village, named Ta' Mintna.
Among the notable buildings, there are the Vincenti tower and several chapels, such as St-Basel, Notre-Dame-des-Peines, St-Jean and Ste-Catherine-d'Alexandrie. The main church, however, is dedicated to the Assumption of Our Lady.
